PBB Alumni thoughts on new season of PBB Double Up!!
The excitement is building up for the upcoming Pinoy Big Brother Double Up. The hit reality TV contest returns this October for another season filled with drama and surprises. But many are still wondering on what kind of ‘double up’ Big Brother has in store for the new batch of housemates. In the September 15 episode of Ruffa and Ai, former PBB housemates meet up and shared thoughts on what fans can expect for the re-opening of the most talked about house in the country.
Macoy Fundales, the singer of PBB’s theme song Pinoy Ako and a housemate during Celebrity Edition 2, said “Feeling ko mas mahirap ngayon. Tipong dalawang seasons na pinag-isa, we don’t know. It could be a celebrity edition na may regular season or teen edition. Hindi ko pa alam.” Fellow Celebrity Edition 2 alum Will Devaughn said he thinks the upcoming season will be jam packed with twice the fun as before. “I think Double Up means mas matapang, mas mataas ang energy level. Baka double na ‘yung house, ha ha ha! I’m really not sure. Let’s all wait and see.” For Season 2 runner up Mickey Perz, he thinks Kuya will be much tougher to his new batch of housemates. “Every season naman humihirap ‘yung mga hamon. I think dito sa Double Up mas maraming mahihirap na tasks. Siguro ‘yung eviction will be more often and mas maraming housemates sigurong makakasama this season.”
PBB became the launch pad for some of the hottest stars of today like Sam Milby, Jayson Gainza, Kim Chiu, and Gerald Anderson. Season 2 Big Winner Beatriz Saw revealed that the prize she won from PBB helped her put up a few small businesses which enabled her to support her family. “Before ako pumasok sa bahay ako ‘yung humihingi sa parents ko. Pero ngayon hindi na ako humihingi, ako na ang nagaabot. Sobrang blessed ko dahil sa PBB, nakabili ako ng house na mas malapit sa work naming lahat. I’m super happy. Thank you PBB!” On the other hand, Season 1 finalist Cass Ponti got a break in showbiz because of PBB, and now the DavaoeƱa beauty is living a much comfortable life. “Nakabili na ako ng bahay at kotse. Maraming nagbago sa buhay ko. Dati talagang sobra-sobra ang pagtitipid mo pero ngayon may mga work na kahit papaano kumikita na at nabibili ko na ‘yung mga gusto ko.”
After their respective stint inside the Big Brother house, the former housemates are now busy with their lives in the showbiz world. Macoy and his band Kenyo have an album out entitled Maharlika. Cass was last seen with Cristine Reyes in Your Song presents Babalik Kang Muli. Will was paired with another ex-housemate, Wendy Valdez, in Precious Hearts Romances presents Bud Brothers. Beatriz currently stars with Toni Gonzaga in the new PHR chapter entitled Ang Lalaking Nagmahal sa Akin. Meanwhile Mickey is a mainstay performer every Sunday on ASAP 09.
