The Big Date on the Big Night!
After 19 long, exciting and challenge-filled weeks, 26 housemates and two Big Brother houses, the Pinoy Big Brother Double Up finally came to an end tonight. But it wasn't just any ending, mind you. It was an ending worth remembering, an ending that will get any PBB fan through the rest of the year!
Exaggeration aside, the Big Date on the Big Night was exactly as exciting, momentous and unforgettable as it promised to be. The night started young but wild upon the arrival of the Big Five to the Ninoy Aquino Stadium, where they received an overpowering cheers of support from their fans who were already there even hours before the actual Big Night. However, as tradition, Jason, Johan, Paul Jake, Tibo and Melai weren't able to see the screaming fans at first for they were safely hooded and locked in the Volkswagen Beetle convertible car that wheeled them into the venue.
The venue, on the other hand, was flooded with thousands of people who were marveling at the impressive three-layered stage stacked in the middle decorated in a hybrid of the Chinese New Year and Valentine's Day vibes. And if they weren't fantastic at that time yet, they were just such when host Toni Gonzaga and the 20 former housemates came into stage for their opening dance performance!
Meanwhile, this season just kept on laying on surprises for its fans and other audience! It was because that the Big Night was not only happening at the stadium, but also at the different provinces namely Cagayan De Oro, Quezon City, Mindoro, Cebu and General Santos City to represent each member of the Big Five! These venues were graced by former PBB winners and housemates such as Celebrity Edition Big Winner Ruben Gonzaga, PBB Edition 2 housemate Ned Rapiz, PBB Edition 1 Third Big Placer Cass Ponti and PBB Edition 1 Fourth Big Placer Uma Khouny.
The rest of the program continued with more performances from international pop sensation Charice Pempengco, Britain's Got Talent's Charlie Green, Pinoy Dream Academy scholars Bugoy Bogayan and Jay-ar Siaboc, Rocksteddy front man Teddy Corpuz, and singers Mark Bautista, Yeng Constantino and Sheryn Regis. The main cast of the upcoming Mexicanovela adaptation Rubi namely Angelica Panganiban, Shaina Magdayao, Jake Cuenca and Diether Ocampo was also there; while the Jabbawockeez, which was hailed as the America's best dance crew, and PBB Teen Edition Big Winner Kim Chiu equally gave an outstanding dance production consecutively.
Meanwhile, while the whole performance enchilada were going onstage, the Big Five were locked into the waiting room, whisking away their anxiousness by drawing strength from each other. Big Brother also helped in making them a little less nerve-racked than they were by giving them his last speech of encouragement. However, that didn't help much as in the next moments, the envelopes which held the results of the save votes were already rolled onto stage. The time for the announcement of the Big Winner has come! And the results? Well, here go: Melai won as the Big Winner with 32.08%, followed comparatively by Paul Jake with a 27.31%; Jason and Johan came in third and fourth with 24.97% and 7.94% respectively while Tibo landed as the very first Fifth Big Placer with a 7.69%!
And now all's that left to say is that all's great that ends great! Congratulations to the winners while see you all in the next PBB season this summer!

ang ganda ni cathy at hermes hindi nakakasawa
i cant feel the atmosphere that paul jake was declared as 2nd big winner and it was a big issue for me when my cousin told me that when she vote paul jake her load was refunded.
To us Paul Jake fans we will congratulate all the winners (Big 5)as well as ourselves for helping PJ on the day he joined PBB up to the Big Night.
There is no such "fair contest" not only in Philippines but anywhere in the world that is already a part of any competition, whether we like it or not this is where ABS-CBN known for.
This is it.. we started to uncover the scripted moves of Melai and Jason even some of the media noticed it that Melai & Jason are acting (read Philstar showbiz section dated 16/2/10).
Again ABS-CBN will have PBB Teen Edition believe me they already selected the housemates and for sure they already selected the Big 5 he he very funny..including the script.
i voted for paul jake the two hours before the big night. i used my two cellphones and voted 2 times but i did not receive any confirmation. i only received the confirmation past 12am which said "voting is now officially closed". i was shocked... how come!!! my gosh abs-cbn NO WAY! mandaraya sila because they want melai to win. mag audition nalng kayo ng ngmumukhang melai para patas ang labanan...
my niece voted paul jake around 8pm on the big night but the reply was "voting is officially closed". wow 8pm nagclose na. but i think if for melai pa yon hindi pa yan close... abs-cbn love pa nman kayo sa taga cebu but ngayon iwan ko lang... papuntahin nyo yan c melai sa cebu makita nya kung sino at ano ang mga cebuano...
TO ALL PAULJAKERS a good write-up of Paul Jake by Verinica r. Samio of Star Ngayon..

“I can ‘t do anything about that. That’s who I was. But I never really expected to last the whole season. Natakot nga ako nang kami na lang ang natira ni Melai. I was not prepared to be the big winnner,” pagtatapat niya.
When asked about his plans, kung itutuloy niya sa pag-aartista ang pananalo niya, sinabi niyang : “I have no plans yet. I will have to talk to my family first and if ever I decide to pursue showbiz I will have to take acting workshops, work on my Tagalog. I may even go back to school, I have one more subject to go before I finish my business course.”
i did vote for melai i think an hour before the big night, but never received any confirmation..i received the confirmation when they were announcing the winners already and all i got was "voting is officially closed" too. so...

winning the PBB title and the ability to have staying power in showbiz are 2 entirely different things. in the long run, what counts is not just winning the title, per se, but the 'staying power'.
there are those who ended up as runner up or second best, who even surpassed what the PBB big winner has reached. just take for example, PBB Edition 1 Big Winner Nene Tamayo. where is she now? compare her to her contemporaries like Jason Gainza, especially, Sam Milby, who undoubtedly are still around and made a mark in the showbusiness.
take also for example ex-housemates Gerald Anderson and Zanjoe Marudo. they were not declared as Big Winners but they get a lot of projects from abs-cbn. same is true with singers Christian Bautista and Charice Pempengco.
so let us not despair paul jake supporters and the rest of the followers of jason, johan and tibo. being second best is not the end of one's career. let's just wait and see where the present popularity of the big five would take them.
