ABS-CBN.com interviewed Rob Stumvoll after sitting in the Kapamilya Chat Room last December 4 to clarify the negative issues surrounding his stint as a housemate of Pinoy Big Brother Double Up. First and foremost, he said that he never uttered any homophobic slur against transgender housemate Rica Paras. The gay community reacted violently when an episode of PBB showed the boys of House B, including Rob, talked about Rica who was referred to by some offensive names.

Rob told ABS-CBN.com, “I was not homophobic to Rica. I have never been a homophone to anyone. Ang totoo is wala akong sinabing anything na ganun about Rica that’s why it felt weird nung pinatawag kaming four boys ni Kuya sa confession room and we talked about ‘yung mga offensive names na itinawag kay Rica. Nagulat ako kasi alam kong wala akong sinabing ganun. What happened was kaming boys ang nasa room na naguusap and, ayoko namang ilaglag sina Rocky (Salumbides) and Patrick (Villanueva), pero narinig ko silang nagjo-joke about kay Rica. Siguro kasi ang lumabas sa TV was nakikitawa ako sa kanila kaya akala ng marami is may sinabi rin ako but the truth is wala talaga.”

The 24 year old balikbayan from Vienna also appealed to the people who didn’t like his actions inside the house. Rob owed up to his mistakes and explained that during there were times that he can’t help but be carried away by too much emotion and pressure being a housemate. “I apologize sa mga taong na-offend ng actions ko. Hindi po talaga ako pikon or ill-tempered. Please understand na sa loob ng bahay sobra ka talagang magiging emotional. I’m very sorry po talaga.”

During the big volleyball game, Rob had a misunderstanding with another housemate Paul Jake Castillo. The two were vocal about not liking each other since day one. Now that he’s back in the outside world, Rob told ABS-CBN.com that everything is water under the bridge and he is open into being friends with Paul Jake. “family and fans ni Paul Jake I’m really sorry if I said something na nakasakit sa inyo. Sana maintindihan niyo everything was just brought about by too much emotion and pressure. I’m not a bad person. I’m just a regular guy na nagkakamali. I hope paglabas ni Paul Jake we can get to get to know each other more. Anything is possible naman e.”

Rob and the other housemates recently visited the World Bazaar event where fans flocked to have a glimpse of them. Ex-housemate Riza Patria revealed that most of the ladies were dying to have a picture with Rob. According to Rob, he is very happy that despite the negative issues there are still those who would love to see him. “It was a very nice feeling. Ang fear ko talaga is lalabas ako ng bahay na maraming galit sa akin because of what they saw sa PBB, and also baka walang maka-relate sa akin kasi akala nila iba ang culture ko. Kaya I was very surprised na maraming bumabati sa akin, lumalapit at nagpapa-picture. Ang babait ng mga tao.”
