Pinoy Big Brother Double Up’s JP and JM Lagumbay are willing to give showbiz a try!

Though sad about their short-lived stay in Pinoy Big Brother Double Up, identical twin brothers JP and JM Lagumbay are happy about their newfound fame because of the hit reality competition. During their visit to the Kapamilya Chat Room last October 16 where they spoke with their followers from all over the world, JP and JM told ABS-CBN.com that they are very thankful to all those who had fun watching them inside the PBB house. “Nakakatuwa na kahit sandali lang kami sa loob ng Bahay niKuya e may mga naaliw din sa amin. Ngayon may mga nakakakilala na sa amin, kapag lumalabas kami may mga bumabati na. Nakakataba ng puso ‘yung suportang natatanggap naminfrom the people,” said JM.


JP made a voluntary exit on his third day as a housemate when his application for leave from his work as a flight attendant was denied. JM was left with the difficult task of deceiving the housemates in Kuya’s two houses that he and JP are just one person. JP said that it was painful for him to leave the house, but he knew he had to prioritize his pregnant wife and two kids. “It was a tough decision because I had to choose between my dream of being a housemate and the reality that I am a husband and a father. Mas nangibabaw sa akin ‘yung needs ng family ko so I had to give up my chance in PBB. Natutuwa ako kapag may nagsasabi sa akin na naiyak daw sila sa kwento ko. Kahit papaano sa pagbabahagi ko ng kwento ng buhay ko e may mga na-inspire at na-touch. Now approved na ‘yung leave ko so I hope mabigyan kami ng pagkakataong bumalik sa house kasi gustong gusto talaga namin.”

The 29-year-old twins used to be part of ABS-CBN’s Talent Center. They appeared in shows like Keep On Dancing, Pangako Sa ‘Yo (playing twin brothers), Sa Dulo Ng Walang Hanggan (only one role was available so they had to trade places every taping schedule), It Might Be You, and the movie Narinig Mo na ba ang Latest? When they were little boys, JP and JM were supposed to audition for Ang TV but got discouraged by the long lines.

Now that they have become familiar faces because of PBB, the Lagumbay twins told ABS-CBN.com that they are willing to try out any showbiz opportunities. JM said he wants to act in teleserye and host variety shows, while JP would like to host travel shows and act in sitcoms and gag shows. JP is more into morena girls like his crush Kaye Abad, while JM is more into mestizas like Maja Salvador.

During his short stay inside Kuya’s house, JP managed to learn to value of ‘pakikisama’ with the other housemates. “You should learn how to adjust. Understand ‘yung pagkakaiba ng bawat housemate. Iba iba kayo ng pinanggalingan kaya you have to respect each other’s beliefs and differences.” For JM, who had to finish the task till the end, accomplishing your every goal is an important challenge for anyone who wants to be a housemate. “Be a team player lalo na kapag may task. Important na maipanalo niyo ‘yung weekly tasks kasi kayo naman lahat ang makikinabang doon. The only way na magawa niyo ‘yung task is kapag lahat kayo magtutulungan.”
