Melai turns into a swan, with Echo as her prince!

Today was Rica’s turn to receive the three kings’ gift, which was “pagtitipid sa pagkain”. In the Confession Room, Hermes disclosed an earlier conversation with Rica. She apparently had quite a lot of insecurities, especially when comparing herself with the other girls in the house. She constantly attempts to go on a diet, but has difficulty stopping herself from snacking every now and then. For her gift, she got a basket of sweet potatoes (or kamote) – the only food that she can eat from day to night.

Despite her go-getter attitude, Rica’s insecurities slip through the cracks. While lounging with carol by the pool, the two could not help but discuss Sam’s good looks. In her province, Rica was always commended on her beautiful face, but now, she can’t help but feel inferior to Sam. Carol, on the other hand, shared that she never made the effort to look pretty. She claimed that it didn’t matter to her, even if people chose to see her as an ugly duckling.

If Carol chose to remain an ugly duckling, Melai chose to evolve into a beautiful swan. Her gift from Kuya was a date with Echo, one of Melai’s all-time idols. In exchange, she had to look and act as a traditional dalagang Pilipina. Kuya made her explain and demonstrate what she thought were actions appropriate for such a character. She was able to answer quickly to Kuya’s hypothetical situations, but had to backtrack a bit when it came to Jason. The two have been bickering for so long, but through shared experiences (and a shared baby), were able to pull through somehow. How would the two relate to each other, after Jason heard Melai’s sharing about her ex-boyfriend?

After her date with Echo, Kuya asks for her reaction about the entire affair. For once, Melai was at a loss for words. Though it wasn’t really a surprise, the reality of it did not sink in until she was actually face to face with Echo. It was a dream come true for her, and she couldn’t help but shed grateful tears. All training of being a dalagang PIlipina went out the window, as Melai could not stop herself from stammering and babbling with excitement. Melai proved how much of a gentleman he was, and concluded that he indeed deserved his success. Echo, who dropped by on the set of Uber, shared that he really wanted it to be an enjoyable and relaxed time for Melai and found her company refreshing and funny. He even sang her “Pusong Ligaw”, a song that he wrote himself and is part of his new album.
