Ex-PBB housemate Carol Batay on Paul Jake Castillo: 'Kung single siya siguro ika-crush ko na talaga siya'!

Evicted Pinoy Big Brother Double Up housemate Carol Batay has been very honest about having “no boyfriend since birth.” Although she comes from a conservative Born Again Christian Chinese family, the 22-year-old teacher never had any hesitation in expressing her feelings inside the PBB house, especially in her admiration of the guy housemates. In an interview with ABS-CBN.com, Carol shared the qualities she loved about housemate Paul Jake Castillo. “Na-touch ako nung lumipat ako from House B papunta sa kanila sa House A. He was very gentleman to me. ‘Carol, upo ka.’ ‘Carol, here’s some food.’ Gusto ko ‘yung mga guys na sweet. Lagi rin niya akong kino-comfort. Also kasi may Chinese blood siya e type ko 'yun.”
However, Carol clarified that she only saw the cutie Cebuano housemate as a brother. “Ang tawag ko sa kanya ‘kuya’ in Chinese. Ganun lang ‘yun, parang brother na I can rely on. Sinabi ko sa kanya na his girlfriend is very lucky to have him because he is so faithful. Brother lang talaga ang turing ko sa kanya, pero kung single siya siguro ika-crush ko na talaga siya.”



She further revealed that she had the chance to admit her feelings which Paul Jake acknowledged like a gentleman. Carol said that she respected Paul Jake’s fidelity to his girlfriend who is waiting for him in the outside world. “I told him about it and he was okay with it. Alam niyang natural lang naman na makaramdam ang isang tao ng ganun. Nahiya nga ako sa kanya after that. Pero sinabi ko rin sa kanya na I don’t want him to think na super serious ‘yung feelings ko sa kanya. Hindi yata naipalabas ‘yung sinabi kong ‘yun kaya siguro ina-assume ng mga tao na gusting-gusto ko talaga si Paul Jake.”

Carol also isn’t worried if her closeness to Paul Jake would upset his girlfriend. “Alam ko naman na ‘yung girlfriend niya e may tiwala kay Paul Jake. Alam niyang si Paul Jake e super faithful sa kanya. At napansin ko rin ‘yun sa kanya nung magkasama kami sa house. There’s nothing to worry about.”

On his birthday last December 22, Paul Jake was given by Big Brother 100 seconds with his girlfriend. The 25-year-old housemate cried tears of joy upon seeing his girlfriend. Although the encounter was brief, Paul Jake treasured the moment more than any other material gifts on his birthday and this Christmas.

Despite Paul Jake’s committed status, Carol still managed to enjoy his company as a friend. During Paul Jake’s three-day task of living in a wooden pushcart outside the house, Carol tried to cheer him up and make the uncomfortable condition easier for him. “Niloloko ko lang siya. Inaaliw ko siya kasi napansin ko na lonely siya that time. Kami kasi magkakasama sa loob na gumagawa ng task and siya mag-isa sa labas. Naaawa ako kasi gusto niyang sumali pero walang lumalapit sa kanya kaya ako na lang lumalapit sa kanya. Napapansin ko rin na nahihirapan na siya sa kariton, ayaw lang niyang sabihin kaya I tried to comfort him. Nagjo-joke ako sa kanya, binibigyan ko siya ng water. Natatawa na lang siya sa akin which is good kasi ibig sabihin nag-enjoy siya habang nasa kariton.”
