Rica, Sam, Johan and Paul Jake might be spending their last week as housemates!

Another week is about to begin, leaving the position for Head of House up for grabs. Of all the perks of being HoH, what is most coveted at this point is the immunity from nomination. For the HoH challenge, Kuya tested the memory skills of the housemates in three rounds, each harder than the last. For the first round, they were shown 50 pictures of various objects, after which they were given 2 minutes to recall as many objects as they can. Rica, Cathy, Tibo and Jason topped the initial round and went on to the next, where they had to recall 25 phrases and words. The two boys tied at 11 points each, while Cathy and Rica got 14 and 18 points, respectively. For the final round, the two were shown pictures and phrases, which they had to write in correct order. In the end, Cathy was named the new Head of House, with her 5 points winning over Rica’s 3.
If the winner of the challenge got immunity, the loser had the option to either accept an automatic nomination or give another housemate an automatic 3 points. With the decision on his hands, Johan opted for survival and stamped Rica’s forehead with the number three. He reasoned that, in the end, PBB is a reality show where all had to do what they could to ensure their spot in the game. To the housemates, he explained that everyone was dear to him, and that he hoped for their understanding as he went ahead with his vote. The automatic 3 points went to Rica, who accepted it graciously. According to Johan, he chose her because he believed her to be a strong contender and because her broad-mindedness would allow her to understand that what he did was nothing personal.

Melai, Kath, Mariel, Hermes, Jason and Tibo would all enter the New Year with ease and temporary security. Being part of the list of nominees, the opposite would hold true for Rica, Sam, Johan and Paul Jake. Aside from the points given by Johan, Rica got another 8 from the others for her boisterous behavior. Sam’s stand-offish demeanor gained her 5 points, while the two boys got 4 nominations each. Johan’s character was still a mystery for the rest, and this led them to conclude that what he presented has yet to go past the superficial. Paul Jake, though considered a strong contender, was also pointed out to be arrogant in word and behavior.

Whether goodbyes have become quite expected or if the holiday cheer has yet to wear off, the housemates received the news of nominations quite well. To the very end, the group wore smiles on their faces and even managed to clown around as each nominee presented their standard plea. Happy or not, one of the four is sure to leave as the year 2010 enters. Who that would be, only you can tell.

The polls are now open! The double-voting system applies, so text BBS for your vote to save, or BBE for your vote to evict your housemate of choice to 2331 for Globe, TM, Sun Cellular and Bayan Wireless Landline or 231 for Smart and talk n Text. You can also check online for other means of making your vote count.

Watch out for the other 100-second encounters inside the PBB house. Don’t miss another heartwarming episode when Rica’s dad accepts her in national TV, and a meet the family moment for the Melason tandem. As 2009 nears its end, Kuya is sure to let more than fireworks explode in celebration!
