Melai named as this edition's Big Winner!

Melai was hysterical after hearing her name hailed as the Big Winner of this season! She almost smudged her beautifully-put-on make-up on her way to the stage, at the same time, grabbing random people to share the overwhelming joy she felt at that moment when she was rolled to the stage after coming out from the miniature Big Brother house. And when she was up on stage already, it appeared she still couldn't grasp the idea of being the Big Winner.

Last Game Uber!

The Big Night is just one sleep away, yet the housemates don’t seem flustered at all. Maybe it’s because they’ve been there and done that. Maybe it’s because they feel like champs already. Maybe it’s because they do realize it’s the end and they’d rather take their own sweet time to finally breathe in every moment left of their being housemates.

Jason, Johan, Tibo, Paul Jake and Melisa feel the Big 5 vibe!

It began with the announcement that lifted a big weight off their chests: they were all winners! No one was going to get booted out, and they could all rest knowing that when they step out of the house, they would leave as one of the Big 5. Jason, Melisa, Paul Jake, Johan and Tibo indulged in a private concert to celebrate the news. Celebrity ex-housemate Macoy Fundales jammed with them, while Kuya provided them with drinks and finger food. This, in fact, was just the front act of a series of performances, this time by the Big 5 themselves!

A closure to Melai and Roy's relationship!

It all started with a heart-shaped box of chocolates that came inside the Big Brother house yesterday afternoon. Everyone buzzed over that controversial package to the point that even Big Brother couldn't contain keeping his secret from the housemates. But as always, the housemates couldn't have it the easy way. Given with the chance of three guesses, they carefully weighed and decided on who might have sent those wonderful small bites of choco heaven. They had Paul Jake, Mariel or Tibo and Melai up in line at the door of the confession room, which - as Big Brother said - would open up once they gave the correct answer. And the righteous one? Yes, it sure was Melai, as already known from the success of Jason's 1,035-kilometers-worth-of-walking sacrifice that was for her.

Melisa Cantiveros earns herself a slot in the Big 4

The three contenders for the Big 4 slot bravely faced Kuya’s endurance challenge: to stand atop a small platform in the middle of the pool for an undefined number of hours. No excuses were accepted to leave their roost. The three had to grit their teeth and hold against the call of nature, even if it was to relieve or feed themselves.

They had various strategies for keeping their post. Melai distracted herself with singing, Tibo chose minimal movement, Paul Jake massaged his frozen joints. All three tried stretching their limbs by crouching, taking care not to let other body parts touch the platform, aside from their feet. They kept warm from the sharp nip of the air by layering clothing and blankets. Nine hours after, all three were still standing strong.

The remaining housemates kept vigil over them, camping by the poolside. They kept the stories flowing and regaled their friends with jokes. Jason led the rest in an ongoing serenade. They cheered the three on and kept them going. For what or for whom did they endure such sacrifice? Paul Jake and Melai did it for themselves, their family and those who believed in them. Tibo thought nothing of himself, but offered the moment for his family.

A few minutes past the ninth hour and Kuya decided to push the housemates harder: only one leg was allowed on top of the platform! Though shifting legs was allowed, they had to focus on keeping their balance along with dealing with fatigue and natural factors. After a few moments, Kuya granted them a minute of rest, after which his instructions got even harder. Only the best leg could be used, with no shifting allowed.

Paul Jake could feel his strength waning, and apologized minutes before he plopped into the water. It’s been a hard day’s night for all three, but soon it was down to Melai and Tibo, standing on their best leg to the end. After another bout of rest, Kuya ups the challenge by making them lift their arms, too! Almost an hour passed with both holding on tight, but in the end, Tibo chooses to give up, leaving Melai as the last housemate standing! Too exhausted, Melai broke down in tears while the rest finally got to heave a sigh of relief.

Looks like we have one slot filled for the Big Four! Who will own the remaining three, just wait and see. Stay glued to the portals and keep watching PBB Double Up!

Last housemate standing!

Only three remained to battle it out for the assured slot in the Big Four. Outfitted in shiny hooded cloaks, the three housemates prepared for their final task that would decide their fate. Kuya announced their entrance to the poolside area as if it were Manny Pacquaio entering the ring; such was the gravity of their last challenge for the week. He welcomed Paul Jake “Jiggling” Castillo who was cloaked in red, Melisa “Inday Cactus” Cantiveros in yellow silk, and Tibo “Man of Steel” Jumalon in glittery white. With Yuri, Jason and Kath serving as their personal assistants respectively, the game was set to begin.

Who's who, housemates?

The housemates might just have forgotten the age-old advice "It's rude to point" when Big Brother shot to them all the thought-provoking questions about their fellow housemates. However, still strong-willed and head on the game, not even one of them refused to reveal whom they think were the wallflowers, the airheads and the plastics inside the house.

Big Brother's back, alright!

Have the housemates become fond of the ear-splitting and annoying rock music that Big Utol used on them for wake-up call? Because the next morning that they were greeted with a mellow tune instead, they seemed oblivious to it!

Patience is rewarded with immunity!

Patience is a virtue, as the saying goes. Being stuck inside the PBB house for several months now has indeed made the housemates quite antsy, which is why they always seem to be itching for activities. The game of the day gives them the opposite, though, as the “Wire Game Challenge” calls for extreme focus and patience. The housemates were given three chances to get a curved wire across a series of curved wire. The housemates were able to do a test run of the activity. Unknown to them, the real thing would come later on, with an electrifying twist: every time their wire rod touches the base wire, the housemate at the other end would be electrocuted. The one with who took the longest time would handle an explosive of some sort, while the housemate with the shortest time spent gets an amazingly big reward: immunity from the next nomination! Who among the housemates would prove deserving of such a reward?

Pintawan Task!

The housemates in House B got their first daily task from Big Brother today. The housemates got messy and creative with the task called Pintawan. They were asked to paint a portrait of their love life using one part of their bodies as a brush. Kuya asked Yuri, Melisa, Carol, Mariel, Yhel, and Kenny, who was still posing as his twin brother Toffi, to proceed to the activity area to do the task.
On Kuya’s signal, Yhel and Mariel dipped their elbows in paint cans and started working on their masterpieces. Carol and Kenny had paintbrushes attached in their chests which they used to express themselves, while Melisa and Yuri had an easier time using their fingers.

On the other hand, Big Brother called Yuri, Yhel, and Melisa to the confession room early this morning. The three girls brought with them some personal items which they are giving away as donations to the victims of typhoon Ondoy. They thought of the important things which some of our homeless countrymen need at this time. Yhel donated a bath scrubber and a black shirt, Yuri gave away her most treasured slippers, soap, and facial wash. On the other hand, Melisa donated a pair of socks, hair clips, and a bottle of perfume.

There was also the news of a housemate who left Kuya’s house today.
