The Big High Five Concert!
Strong high fives all around, everybody! The Big Five just did all they can to give their fans and followers the performances they asked to see. And boy, did they do great in the Big High Five concert!
Opening the night dancing to the Black Eyed Peas's runaway success hit "I Gotta Feelin," Paul Jake, Johan, Jason, Tibo and Melai started off with the right foot in infecting the audience with the right groove and atmosphere for the night. But things were just getting started then because the next numbers were owned by Paul Jake, who at first stammered out the lines of Andrew Gold's "Never Let Her Slip Away" but was able to recover later on; Johan, who suprised all of us by singing Shamrock's "Alipin" flawlessly, and Jason, who belted out The Script's "The Man Who Can't Be Moved" from his heart... and vocal chords. And if it weren't enough that the boys were singing, well, Melai was the cherry on top for their performances! She acted as the ultimate leading lady for the three of them, sitting there in the middle of the stage and changing face masks (a Denise mask for Paul Jake while a Cathy mask for Johan) for every number!
And the fun just kept on going and going! Based from the requests of fans, Melai also had the chance of performing solo to Lady Gaga's Bad Romance, which was also in part of her and Tibo's dance showdown against each other. And after that number... whew! All that's can be said is that: Lady Gaga, you can now move over for here comes Lady Melai! Meanwhile, we also have to give it to Tibo for busting out cool moves during his solo dance number to the beat of the Black Eyed Peas's "Boom Boom Pow." He may be a daddy already but he's forever a young dancer at heart!
Oh, of course, how could anybody miss out on the Melason's duet performance of Regine Velasquez's and Ogie Alcasid's "Pangako Sa 'Yo?" Even though the number seemed like a deja vu from the New Year past, it was way sweeter the second time around so no complaints there!
The concert ended with the C4 Boys lip-synching to the widely known Boys Over Flowers's Korean theme song entitled "One More Time." After the number, they, including Melai, posed in the manner of the real Boys Over Flowers characters in the middle of the stage. Too much fun; we're sure the fans enjoyed every bit of the concert!
But speaking of enjoyment, will The Big Five's high levels of energy trudge on for tomorrow's The Big Truth with TV host Boy Abunda? Hold your breaths until tomorrow's PBB Double Up episode!
